SHARING LOVE AND SUPPORT AT CHRISTMAS

The Provincial Mothers’ Union President of the Anglican Church of Burundi joined children living in an orphanage in Makamba town to celebrate Christmas. The orphanage that was established in 1995 after the civil war and mainly supported by the Roman Catholic Church has over 50 children of which 23 are under one year old.

Speaking of the situation in the orphanage Mrs. Emilienne Nyaboho said that she was very touched by the needs of the children and the way their basic needs were being supplied, especially the babies. She sincerely thanked Sister Seconde for her service to such vulnerable children even when resources and finances were limited

The Provincial Mothers’ Union President along with children who accompanied her distributed gifts to the children and provided some food items needed by the orphanage.

This orphanage in Burundi is among a number of private establishments that are helping orphans to overcome the challenges of life and to grow with hope for the future.
