27 Dec 2018 • News

The House of Bishops of the Anglican Church of Burundi met this Thursday 27th December 2018 in Gitega and focused their discussion on the recent resignation of the Archbishop Bernard NTAHOTURI as the Director of the Anglican Center in Rome and the Representative of the Archbishop of Canterbury to the Holy See.

After reading and analysing the statement of the governors of the Anglican Center in Rome issued on the 21st December 2018 and listening to the presentation of events that led to the resignation by Archbishop Bernard NTAHOTURI, the House of Bishops of the Anglican Church of Burundi found that Bernard NTAHOTURI worked in a different cultural context away from home but there was no immoral behaviour intended or established.

The House of Bishops deplored the procedure and hasty decisions taken based on ALLEGATIONS.

The House of Bishops is pleased to welcome Archbishop Bernard NTAHOTURI back and assure him to retain the privileges, trust and respect of a retired Archbishop within the Province of the Anglican Church of Burundi.
