21 Mar 2022 • News

The diocese of Rumonge is moving towards its ninth anniversary and celebrating achievements in a number of areas. The Diocese is committed to promoting community health through the construction and equipping of health centres and the implementation of health-related projects; the establishment and supervision of schools; the management of natural resources and environmental protection; food security; and building the capacity of youth towards economic empowerment.

These activities are implemented alongside evangelistic programmes carried out throughout the entire province of Rumonge. In order to support the spread of the Good News of the Kingdom of God 57 parishes and more than 200 sub-parishes have been established in the hills. To better serve the communities and parishes seven new pastors and fourteen deacons have recently been ordained. Christians who live in remote localities are delighted because, as they say, there are places where a pastor or a deacon is needed. The newly ordained will be able to assist the ministry in sub-parishes and help to reduce distances travelled by the pastors.
